So here is the list of books I'd like to see as a movie (in which the world is a perfect world where they don't ruin movies based on a book...) :
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
To be honest, I didn't fancy the book as much as I expected to but I think it would be great to see it on the big screen. Circus screams joy and wonderful tricks being showed, and the romance between Marco and Celia would be a great addition to the storyline.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I have so much love for this series and I would be pretty terrified if they plan to make movies out of it. But who wouldn't want to see Akiva & Karou being portrayed beautifully, also all those chimaera and seraphim creatures? Daughter of Smoke and Bone would make a great fantasy movie.
Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway
The main reason of why I want this book to be a movie is because I want to hear the actual song of Audrey, Wait! so bad. I wouldn't mind if they pick someone else (not a boy with ginger hair) as James, though...
Stolen: A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher
Australian wilderness. London. Camel. Being completely surrounded by desert with no one else beside your captor. Paints. Stockholm Syndrome. This is totally random, but my version of Tyler while I was reading the book was Jake Abel. I'm sure there will be tears running down the audience's faces at the end of the movie.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
I know, I knowwww the movie is in the process of being made right now. (I'm pretty excited about the choosen casts for our Mia & Adam!) Personally for me, eventhough I think If I Stay is kinda lacking in 'some aspects' to be made into the big screen version, it would be great to see a movie of it. The flashbacks, the emotions it would provoke from the audience... Ah :')
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
Eventhough I love both of Morgan Matson's books, I think SCS would make a better option for a movie out of the two. There's the fun side of summer in Lake Phoenix, dealing with people from the past, being a better version of yourself, and the importance of family all in one story. It would be a very heart-warming movie.
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Blood Red Road is a dystopian novel I would like to see as a movie. It has a quite solid storyline on the first book (let's just forget about the love triangle in the second book, okay?). Seeing Saba and Jack in action would be awesome.
Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
I wasn't even born yet when they made the TV series starred Melissa Gilbert :( The Little House/Pioneer series is my favorite childhood books and I would really love to see a remake of it in the future, please.
Sing Me to Sleep by Angela Morrison
Somehow, Sing Me to Sleep reminds me a lot of The Fault in Our Stars but since we could see the 'transformation' and the process of our heroine to be a better person I choose this one over TFiOS. Then again, we already know they're currently filming Fault....
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
I actually have not read the book yet but I'm so excited after watching the movie trailer! Can't wait til the movie hit the theaters soon!
So what do you think? Do any of the book above also made it to your list? I would love to see your choice on this week's topic so do not hesitate to share your link! To read other awesome entries on this topic, click here :D
Blood Red Road is an awesome pick! I can't believe I forgot it. Same with Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I am too afraid to read Second Chance Summer! I can't handle the sad books...

I hope you enjoy The Book Thief. I'm nervous to watch it incase it ruins one of my favourite books!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that If I Stay was in development. I'm slightly scared, but also really excited about that! Great list!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT! :-) Happy Tuesday
Audrey, Wait! would make such a cute film. I'd love to see that on the big screen and hear the song. I still need to read The Book Thief, but it is definitely on (my enormous) TBR. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI want to read Second Chance Summer, I've heard many good things about this book :D
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to buy Blood Red Road (especially cause it's on bargain price on periplus XD) but I hate their new cover :(
Daughter of Smoke and Bone would be so beautiful! I just started reading it and am, so far, totally blown away. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about If I Stay & The Book Thief (which you should definitely read!!)...I hope they do the books justice.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I have Daughter of Smoke & Bone on my to-read shelf, I really need to get on that lol.
Would love to see Daughter of Smoke & Bone on the big screen!

I actually haven't read any of these except for Daughter of Smoke & Bone, but I agree! In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I think some big producer has optioned it for film already, though there's no more news other than that... Still, it's progress. :D I plan on reading Stolen and If I Stay very soon, because all I've seen are positive reviews from trusted friends, so hopefully I will be able to soon and will enjoy it. As for The Book Thief -- YES. I haven't read it either, but there's so much hype surrounding both the book and the film that it's hard not get caught up. I'm looking forward to a good, heartbreaking movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat list, Tirta!
P.S. I LOVE your blog header. So pretty. <3
I read Girl Stolen so long ago it didn't even cross my mind to add it to my TTT. It would absolutely be an interesting film. I was a little weepy at the end of the book already, I can only imagine what the movie would do to me. I would also love to see Daughter of Smoke and Bone on the big screen, but it would need a big budget, and it would need to be done very carefully.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list!
